Palm Court was at the top of my SF restaurant list for a long time, and while it’s faced some fierce competition, still remains up there. Their castle-esque setup is housed in the Dogpatch Restoration Hardware building, so you know it’s decked out with the most beautiful furnishings. Everything is pristine, classy, and elegant, with live palm trees growing in the middle of the open layout. It may be one of the most elegant and luxurious feeling restaurants I’ve visited.
Food-wise they have a wood fired menu. This may seem basic, with items like wood fired artichokes, sweet potatoes, and an assortment of meats and vegetables. However, the way they prepare these normal ingredients is anything BUT normal. The smokiness and rich flavors brought out by their wood firing process elevate the flavor in a way you can’t mimic in your own kitchen. They only have three dessert options, and butterscotch creme brûlée may sound like a ‘skippable’ item, but it had my family and I fighting for bites.
Pro tip- head over to The Palm Court a little before your reservation. They have a wine bar area and you’re allowed to take your glass with you throughout the Restoration Hardware store (try you’re best not to spill- HA). If you go up to the top floor of the store, they have all their outdoor patio furniture and a great view, so it’s a great spot to enjoy a glass!
