My Take

Gotta

order:

Rabbit Ragu, Ravioli, stuffed squash blossom

Vibes:

Intimate, good for conversation, cozy

Notes:

Rock solid Italian food in a cozy, inviting restaurant located in the Shaw neighborhood in DC. San Lorenzo feels like a family establishment with upscale Italian eats and some of the freshest pasta. Their wait staff is incredibly knowledgeable- we talked with them for quite a bit of time on what wine to pair with out dinner. San Lorenzo offers a 4 or 6 course tasting menu, which will serve options not on their a la cart menu. We got their 6 course tasting menu and it was a great experience- they even brought us a glass of champagne to start!

Our dinner was exceptional- the pasta was very fresh and the rabbit ragu was some of the best pasta I’ve had in the area. Unfortunately I thought the desserts were skippable, and my salmon wasn’t all too memorable, but the pasta and appetizers more than made up for it. Overall, San Lorenzo is the perfect spot for a cozy date night and some of the best pasta around.
