My Take

Gotta

order:

Vodka Sauce pasta, Drunken Love Pizza, Brownie with Cannoli cream and pistachios

Vibes:

Cozy and warm, welcoming, buzzing, fun and chatty staff

Notes:

Grazie Nonna is really solid Italian food. Really solid. The interior of the restaurant is old school Italian meets modern city, with GIANT wax candles melting across the restaurant, right out of Phantom of the Opera. We sat at the pizza bar, which was the perfect seat for us to have dinner with a view- we were watching them make our pizza right in front of us! I’m not usually one to note how ‘welcoming’ a restaurant is, but waiters and cooks went out of their way to talk to us. They were joking around with each other and looked like they genuinely enjoyed working at Grazie Nonna.

They have mastered the vodka sauce, and whether eating it on their Drunken Love Pizza (most popular menu item), or on their vodka sauce pasta, the vodka sauce is some of the best I’ve had. We also tried their Sunday Sauce pasta with short rib cooked into the sauce, and for both pastas it was some of the most perfectly al dente pasta ever. At $8 a piece, their garlic bread was definitely priced a little steep, but was super necessary for soaking up some of that extra pasta sauce. Their desserts were great too- they even sent us a free tiramisu!
