My Take

Gotta

order:

seasonal agnolotti, focaccia

Vibes:

Dim lit, cozy, intimate, inviting, warm

Notes:

I feel like sorella gets a little overshadowed by some of the ‘buzzier’ Italian spots in SF, but in terms of both food and vibes, Sorella is actually one of my favorites. They got their start from the two-Michelin star Acquerello team, so that automatically verifies the quality of their menu. The interior is dim lit, modern, and a little cozy, making it the ideal spot for an intimate date night. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to sip your wine really slowly and hang out over good conversation.

The pasta and bread at Sorella are also top tier. I tried their duck bolognese gnocchi and a short rib agnolloti that have (as of writing this) been switched to more seasonal options (we love a constantly changing menu). The quality of their pasta really made an impression on me- it was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and incredibly flavorful. Theri gnocchi was soft and pillowy, just how I like it. Perfectly executed pasta dishes, and it really can’t get much better than that. My one thing is that their servings are definitely on the smaller side. For me, it was the perfect amount of food to walk away not feeling too full, but my boyfriend said he was still hungry afterwards.
